Reframing Asia

I published a three episode podcast series for my senior project in English Language and Literature as an undergraduate student. This series analysed the novel and Apple Tv adaptation of Pachinko by MinJin Lee from a post-colonial perspective. Each episode focused on a different aspect of Asian representation in mainstream media. My research and analyses in this project cover a variety of themes such as: the impact of colonial rule on identity formation for immigrants, the importance of language and culture in sustaining identity, and a brief discussion on Hollywood's growing catalogue of Asian stories in mainstream media.

Episode 1: Resurrecting identity in a third space

Episode 2: The woman and the west

Episode 3: Entering Hollywood
